 Young, free and single
It’s hard being young, free and single So much freedom and choice to mingle With the opposite sex So many choices and stress Regarding who to choose Chill and spend time with More difficult than what to wear
Over twenty on my phone list Many more I desire every day Who I just can’t resist Giving the once over As they pass me on the street Gyrating their bodies And catching my fancy
So many of the opposite gender To mix with Talk, flirt and date That’s the way it goes Changing partners every other week No need to chase and seek People nowadays quite up front and daring
See them on the tube and street Staring and not acting discreet Willing to talk to strangers Don’t care if their parents know Or they get a bad reputation
Threats of forced marriage no longer work With the younger generation Who are experiencing the joys of liberation? Sexual freedom and abortion Experimentation and rebellion Darkening the family name Nowadays, aint no such thing as shame
Acting like they are bad Following the hip-hop culture In dress and behaviour Words of patois and rap Needing a good slap To their ideas and actions But they don’t care Because they are young free and single
Following the society And latest trends From bollywood And the western culture Far from Islam But that’s cool Need an excuse to act like fools
Life is short And so much to do Being careful not to get caught By parents and family Time flies And the angel of death arrives Unexpectedly
So its time to think Before you chase women and drink Yourself to oblivion Face what’s obvious Whilst acting like the kuffar But still retaining your Iman Is it enough to be Muslim? And yet you follow the way of the shaytan With intentions To change when you get married And have kids
Wife to cover Whilst now she don’t bother Both of you to make Hajj But first you must learn the fatiha And other surahs And forget the song lyrics Which you both memorised Whilst dancing half naked in a club
May your wish come true? At least you haven’t forgotten completely That you may be young, free and single But your life and soul belongs to Allah the almighty And what you’re doing now Is just to fit in and show That you’re not boring and sad
